If you’ve seen a picture that looks anything like the above, you know who Andy Warhol is. Andy (we’re on a first-named basis) was famous for his influence in the development of “pop-art” and is the artist behind such iconic illustrations of Marilyn Monroe, Muhamad Ali, and Elizabeth Taylor. Most specifically, Andy was known for developing his art not based on the medium but rather on the subject matter.
It was a close friend of Andy Warhol,
who is actually credited for inspiring the type of art he has become notorious for. Unsure of where to start, his friend suggested he “paint what he loved most.” This suggestion ultimately led to the creation of his most famous work of art – the Campbell Soup Can, and eventually resulted in his “celebrity series” – as he undeniably and honestly loved what we have come to know as celebrity culture.
In a lot of ways, our thinking is like that of Andy Warhol. We blog about what we love, beauty. It, much like art, is not specific to certain echelons in society, but appreciated by each and every one of us. Our goal is not to glamourize beauty, but instead to make it relatable. Everybody loves Campbell Soup, everybody loves a perfectly winged eyeliner. Same, same.
This week, we want you to make like Andy Warhol’s friend and put the questions to us! We have a whole weekend of blog prep scheduled and we want to take advantage of covering all of the topics you have questions about!
