On any given day, you heat, brush, pull, curl, straighten, dye, blow-dry and back comb your hair. On that same day, you’ll probably ask “I don’t understand: why does my hair look like a dog chewed it?”
The fact of the matter is, we put our hair through the ringer on a recurring basis, it’s a miracle there’s any left on our head. We’ve gotten in the habit of lightening, brightening and ombréing to our hearts content on top of scorching it on a recurring basis. If it could talk, we’re confident it would say something to the effect of “seriously, though – ow. Like seriously.”
This isn’t the part where we tell you to stop doing all of that, this is the part where we tell you to start being nicer to your hair. One way of going about that is opting for a magical treatment that’s the equivalent of penance for your hair. . . it just forgives all of your sins! Poof! Well, almost. . . not quite
This is our friend, Colleen:
Colleen is not only a stylist extraordinaire, but she’s a big fan of tasting the rainbow when it comes to hair colours. Recently, she’s enjoyed cherry red, platinum blonde and rose coloured locks, Colleen credits her hair’s healthy looking appearance and feel to Olaplex. “I honestly wouldn’t recommend something like this to my clients, unless I was so blown away by the results. My hair feels healthy, and strong regardless of being put through the ringer, as of late.”
If you’ve been noticing how Libertee’s hair has been outtabounds, lately – she credits Colleen Eggen at M salon, first and foremost and Olaplex, second. She started the treatments about 16 weeks ago, and was impressed enough by the results, that we wanted to spread the news!
What is this Olaplex Potion you speak of?
*We want to preface our description of Olaplex by stating that we share the following information with you in layman’s terms.
Stuff you do to your hair, breaks your hair.
Olaplex glues it back together and makes it stronger than it was before. Basically. Much like a medicine that works more effectively when taken on a regular basis, Olaplex demonstrates cumulative, compounding results. Translation: the longer you use it, the stronger, healthier and more vibrant your hair will become.
You’ve got me under your spell!
Like any well-executed third date, Olaplex starts in your salon and follows you home. Olaplex is a formula that can be integrated into an already-scheduled treatment. In other words, spending extra time at the salon, isn’t necessary; however, be warned it’s a couple of extra dollars. Depending on your salon, adding Olaplex as a part of your hair experience will cost an additional $10-$30 for the in-salon treatment, as well as an additional $40- $75 dollars for the miraculous, take home treatment.
People who might want to give Olaplex a try include everyone. Specifically people that routinely challenge their hair – we’re looking at you, blondes, baylagers, ombre-ers and rainbow-hair-enthusiasts.
Although amazing, Olaplex isn’t the kiss from a prince that magically undoes any damage you may have done to your hair. Think of Olaplex as a member of “team responsible hair care” it will go to bat for you, but can’t win the game, all on its own. Be nice!
