The bomb dot com

Libertee Muzyka September 28, 2016

If you’ve walked by any retail windows as of late, chances are you’ll have noticed a familiar face in the store window.  Maybe you won’t have a direct or personal relationship with the item, but if you’ve seen Grease, truth is, you’ve always had a bit of a crush on it.

If we have anything in common, you had a secret wish to be a part of a select group of women growing up known as: The Pink Ladies. Not only were these girls the coolest cats in school, they had the flyest club bomber jackets.

The good news is you don’t have to let a rando named Frenchie try and pierce your ear, or a dude named Kenickie mark his territory all up on your neck to sport the latest version of the bomber. This trend is popping up all over and it’s the BOMB DOT COM.

We love bombers for their multi functioning take on fashion.  Not only is this a perfect jacket for the fall, but it can easily translate into an indoor outfit.

If you’re thinking about buying a bomber, we wanted to share some helpful tips and tricks when it comes to integrating this Pink Lady Piece into your wardrobe.

Don’t Waste your Waist!

The bowed out cut of the bomber jacket has a tendency to sit wide on the largest part of our body, which is our hips.  Be sure to accentuate your waist below the jacket.  We’ve done just that by pairing this look with a pair of high-waisted jeans with a pretty blouse all tucked in.

Go Long!

If you’re going for a more casual look, we like the idea of matching the length of the undershirt with the jacket or having the shirt just slightly longer.  By creating a panel in the middle of our body, we’re lengthening our look, and decreasing the blunt stop of the jacket across our waist; buttoning up the shirt to the top of the collar is not only super-cute, it further promotes the lengthening effect.  Also - we’d be remiss not to mention the all out rad design of this jacket - check out the back. . .eat your heart out, Pink Ladies.

This is a (Wo)Man’s Jacket

The term bomber jacket is actually associated to the jacket fighter pilots wore during World War Two.  It’s also connected to the idea that some of our favourite clothes are often stolen from our boyfriend’s closets.  It’s incidentally no surprise that Libertee looks exactly like a cool Kelly McGillis in Top Gun about to teach a young Tom Cruise a lesson. “You were in a 4G inverted dive with a MiG28?!”

As always, we love the idea of integrating all sorts of feminine flair against largely masculine pieces.  Case and point: stilettos, pencil skirt and a red lip under a black bomber.  We’re in love.

Us to every boyfriend ever:

“Just admit this looks better on me and you’ll feel better about me keeping it forever.”

If you’re in love with all of the bombers, just like we are, they can be found in one very special place:  A big thanks to the Bamboo Ballroom for supplying the bomb, bomber jackets! Tell Stacey we say hi!
